Blackwood Contracting was founded by owner/operator Darcy McCracken in 2021 with it’s subsidiary, Blackwood Millwork LTD founded in 2022. With over 21 years experience in the trades, he has predominantly worked as a custom carpenter on custom designed homes, plus as a sole proprietor since 2014. He brings a plethora of knowledge from the residential side of construction and renovations, and is quickly carving out a name in the commercial space. He holds his Journeyman ticket, and Red Seal as a Journeyman Carpenter.
Darcy is known for his precision to his craft, his enthusiasm for taking on new challenges, and his passion for custom work. Born and raised in Airdrie, Alberta, he has resided in Calgary for 8 years with his wife Charlotte, and children Olivia and Alexander, as well as their and their dogs, Crowley and Dolly.
